Międzynarodowe Targi Poznańskie hosts women participating in a special Wielkopolanki za Kółkiem [Wielkopolska Women Behind the Wheel] Rally for the second time. The ladies will have an opportunity to prove that a woman behind the wheel can drive pretty well and even better than many men.
This year, the rally will start on Saturday, 6 March at 9.45 am. The event will commence at the Poznań racing track (the only professional racing track in Poland) in Przeźmierowo, ul. Wyścigowa 3. The event is organised by Automobilklub Wielkopolski.
The Honorary Committee includes: Piotr Florek - Governor of Wielkopolska, Marek Woźniak - Marshal of Wielkopolska, Ryszard Grobelny - Mayor of Poznań, Jan Grabkowski - Poznań District Starost and Andrzej Byrt - MTP President.
The ladies will set off at 10.45 am, but they have to register first (at 9.45 am) and participate in a briefing (10.30 am). The teams can include only women. Men can only support them.
The first skill tests will start at 10.45 am. Speed and driving technique is what counts. Half an hour later the first team will set off. As in the previous year, the rally will go through the city. The women will have to complete some challenges on the way - they have to watch the route very closely. The finish is organised at the fairgrounds and the first teams should cross the line at around 2 pm. Attractions await the contestants on the MTP grounds, including a presentation of the latest Renault cars (test drive possible), special trials of remotely controlled models and beautician's shows.
The rally participants will have an opportunity to participate in various competitions at the Poznań racing track since the organisers have prepared many challenges. For instance, the ladies can try quad driving.
What's most important, each woman can join in the fun. Many awards have been planned - a Renault with a full tank for a weekend, a Bali massage, a monthly supply of mineral water, foreign language courses and fitness club passes. The competition is not about bravado and speed. It is supposed to be great fun for all the ladies.
