The Fair at the Heart of a Unique Parade – 100 Years of Bus Transport in Poznań

Share

On Sunday, September 14, Poznań will turn into the stage of a spectacular event. More than 30 buses – from vintage vehicles of past decades to the newest low-emission models – will roll through the city streets. The parade is the highlight of the celebrations marking the 100th anniversary of bus transport and the 145th anniversary of public transit in the capital of Greater Poland.

The center of the event will be MTP Poznań Expo. Gates open at 11:00 AM, with all buses on display at Plac Marka. Visitors will be able to choose a vehicle for the special anniversary ride. At exactly noon, the colorful convoy will set off, led by the Poznań City Orchestra together with MPK (Poznań Public Transport Company).

The buses will pass through the heart of the city – from Rondo Kaponiera, via Solna, John Paul II Avenue, and Baraniaka, to Chartowo, Hetmańska, and Grunwaldzka – before returning to MTP Poznań Expo, where they can be viewed up close at an outdoor exhibition. Guest vehicles from other cities will also operate special tourist routes.

To mark the occasion, a unique collectible has been prepared – a special edition PEKA card featuring artwork by SiXi, available starting September 5 at all ZTM sales points.

Participation in the event is free of charge. Seating on buses during the ride is limited – so be sure to arrive early and experience a journey through a century of public transport history in Poznań.
