The Purebred Dog Show Weekend in Full Swing at MTP Poznań Expo
A truly special event is underway at MTP Poznań Expo, attracting dog lovers from across Poland and around the world. The Purebred Dog Show Weekend is the country’s oldest and largest canine event, boasting more than sixty years of tradition and a one-of-a-kind atmosphere. For three days, the exhibition halls are filled with the sounds of the rings, the focus of judges, and the energy of thousands of dogs and their handlers.
Friday – A Celebration of Champions and Hunting Dogs
The opening day is dedicated to the very best. During the Champion Show, judges select the most beautiful of all champions – a highlight that stirs great excitement among both exhibitors and visitors.
The same day also features the National Hunting Dog Show, showcasing native Polish breeds such as the Polish Hound (Gończy Polski), Polish Hunting Dog (Ogar Polski), Polish Greyhound (Chart Polski), and Polish Hunting Spaniel.
Saturday & Sunday – International Competition and the Grand Finale
The weekend continues with two International Purebred Dog Shows, bringing together participants from around the world.
Dogs representing more than 200 breeds are judged by experts from across Europe, as well as from countries as far away as Chile and Thailand.
The Grand Finale on Sunday will reveal the winners of prestigious titles and crown the Supreme Best in Show – the most beautiful dog of the entire event.
Three Days Full of Passion and Emotion
This year’s edition has attracted around 7,000 dogs.
Visitors can admire both well-known breeds – such as Golden Retrievers, Labradors, Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, and Whippets – as well as rarer ones, including the Greenland Dog, Spanish Hound, Tornjak, and Kishu.
A strong representation from Poland and other European countries adds to the diversity of the event.
The program also features dynamic dog dancing, obedience, mondioring, canine fitness, sheep herding, and police dog demonstrations.
Throughout the weekend, visitors can explore a large shopping area offering a wide selection of products for dogs and their owners – from food, treats, and toys to grooming supplies and accessories. Many of these items are hard to find in regular stores, making this the perfect opportunity to discover something special for your four-legged companion.
The 2nd International Purebred Dog Shows are a family-friendly event – admission is free for children under 6, and tickets are available via the Grupa MTP mobile app and ToBilet.pl.
