A report on which horticultural brands are recommended by artificial intelligence models, a competition for a fascinator under the theme “Absurd,” and a presentation exploring how much nature the human mind needs. This is the 20th anniversary edition of Gardenia. From October 6–8, 2026, MTP Poznań EXPO will become the largest gathering of the horticultural industry in Poland, with this year’s edition spanning four exhibition halls.

20 Years and an Expanded Format

Gardenia is celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2026, with organizers promising one of the largest and most international editions in the event’s history. For comparison, the previous edition attracted nearly 7,000 visitors from 29 countries, 247 exhibitors, and 80 buyers from 10 countries.

The program will feature product launches, conferences, training sessions, and themed zones dedicated to ecology, new technologies, and urban greenery.

A new feature is the “Environmentally Friendly Solutions” Zone, showcasing innovations in water and energy conservation, soilless cultivation, smart control systems, and modern greenhouses.

The official opening of the trade fair on Tuesday, October 6, will be combined with a gala ceremony featuring the presentation of anniversary statuettes, Grupa MTP Gold Medals, and Acanthus Aureus awards.

The Floristry Stage: Florists Breaking the Mold

For three days, renowned florists and masters of floral art will take the stage in Hall 8A. The program features demonstrations with intriguing titles, from “Floral Paradoxes” and “Rococo. The Lady” to “Autumn Without a Formula,” presented by the master group of the International Floral Institute, and “Wild Nature in Controlled Form,” exploring rewilding in the gardens of the future.

The lineup includes Anna Wawrzyniak, an International Master Florist and certified FLORINT judge, as well as Monika Kudłacz, a Polish vice-champion in floristry.

Another highlight is the Karina Maćkowiak Fascinator Competition, taking place on Thursday under the theme “Absurd.”

Speakers’ Corner: Where Horticulture Meets Artificial Intelligence

The second stage, Speakers’ Corner in Hall 7, focuses on business and technology.

On Tuesday, experts will explore where real business opportunities currently lie in horticulture. A panel on greenwashing will pose a pointed question: is a green promise a genuine transformation or an eco-friendly facade that could have legal consequences?

Wednesday will focus almost entirely on artificial intelligence. Participants will learn about an industry report examining which horticultural brands are recommended by AI models, how to build their brand presence in AI tools, and how to use these technologies to run an online gardening store.

Green Cities and Trees Under the Microscope

The anniversary edition of Gardenia also includes the Urban Gardening Art Forum, dedicated to ways of cooling cities, retaining water, and reversing deurbanization.

One of the speakers will be a psychiatrist presenting “The Green Prescription,” a talk exploring how much and what kind of nature the human mind needs.

The Federation of Polish Arborists has also prepared a separate certified training session. Topics will include retrenchment pruning, the limits of trees’ tolerance to drought, and the use of LiDAR technology to assess tree health and condition.

International Buyers and a Joint Event with POLECO

The anniversary edition places a strong emphasis on international cooperation. As part of the Hosted Buyers program, purchasing directors, garden center owners, and representatives of international retail chains will be invited to Poznań, including participants from Germany, France, the Netherlands, the Scandinavian countries, Central and Eastern Europe, and the United Kingdom.

Gardenia will take place alongside POLECO, bringing the horticultural, environmental, and municipal sectors together in one space dedicated to green cities and sustainable development
